team Imad and Yarrow Beydoun opened Mediterranean Gourmet in
2006. Imad, of Lebanese ancestry born and raised in Beirut, has become known in the islands for his authentic dishes and his ability to offer Hawaiian flair to traditional favorites. In 2005, Imad and Yarrow (who has family on Kauai) moved to Kauai's North Shore, and Imad quickly gained a following for his homemade hummus, sold at local farmer's markets. In less than a year of its opening, Mediterranean Gourmet was named "Best New Restaurant on Kauai" by Honolulu Magazine's 2007 Hale 'Aina
Awards Issue. In the time since, Mediterranean Gourmet has received
three additional Hale 'Aina
Awards, considered to be Hawaii's most prestigious dining
awards.
Mediterranean Gourmet offers a full bar featuring drink specialties such as Passion Fruit Cosmos, Homemade Sangria, and Hand Muddled Mojitos. An extensive wine selection is available with more than sixty different kinds of wine from around the world. On Wednesday evenings guest may take advantage of the Half Price Wine Night, and enjoying an old favorite, try something new or treat themselves to that bottle they may normally reserve for a special occasion. Enjoy live entertainment Monday through Saturday evenings, featuring everything from classical guitarist to belly dancing to live Hawaiian music. All of this awaits your enjoyment at Mediterranean Gourmet's beautiful ocean front location on the lush tropical North Shore of Kauai.
